Lori holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Fairbanks, Alaska. She has over 10 years of experience working with military families as an active duty military spouse. While residing in Fairbanks, her experiences included serving on a care team designed to respond to spouses and families of soldiers injured or killed in the line of duty.
At each military duty station she lived at, Lori was involved in her Family Readiness Group, including Ft. Campbell (KY), Ft. Wainwright (AK), Ft. Benning (GA), and Ft. Carson (CO). Lori volunteered with the Columbus USO, as well at the Columbus Hospice during her years residing in Georgia.
Lori is a native of Plymouth, where she currently resides. Before joining the team at Chapel Hill, she served as activity director for a nursing home in her hometown.
As the community outreach coordinator for Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, Lori’s role is dedicated to organizing free community outreach events that bring families comfort and hope. From educational workshops that offer “practical next steps in the healing journey” to one-of-a-kind remembrance events, the mission of the Chapel Hill Community Outreach program is to provide quality healing experiences for the community.
Lori enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. Some of her favorite hobbies include making homemade soaps and lotions, along with taking regular canoeing trips on local rivers.
