Obituary for Robert Kaser

Robert Kaser
Robert “Bob” Kaser, age 87, of Mishawaka left us to be with his Lord Jesus in heaven on May 6, 2017 at 9:58 AM in the Hospice House in South Bend. He was born June 29, 1929 to Clarence R. and Edna (Creager) Kaser in Mishawaka, Indiana. After graduating from High School, Bob enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably from 1951 to 1953. Bob married Loretta Vaughn Lawson. She survives. Mr. Kaser worked for Strauss Bakery for over 25 years. Bob used his God given voice to cheer and encourage seniors at many facilities in the Michiana area for many years. His good friend and piano player, George Spies, partnered with Bob to become the “Mellow Fellows”. He sang gospel songs as well as show tunes. Bob and his friend Howard Wilsberg had a great time visiting and singing for shut-ins who attended his church, College Park Missionary Church. He loved his family, as well as, his church family and was always glad to have time to be with them. Bob loved to fish and had a wonderful recipe for catfish that he enjoyed preparing. Bob was also a wonderful artist. One time, when he was ill, he decided to work at art while he recuperated. He went on to do many beautiful portraits and other art for many years. He enjoyed going to Milton Day Care twice a week, and would bring home many bingo prizes to share. Bob leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Loretta; daughter, Erin (Richard) Evans; his son, Shawn Kaser; grandson, Greg Evans; and three step-children, Christopher Lawson, Terry Lawson, and Tracy (Bobby) Lawson-White and two step-granddaughters, Gracie and Julie Lawson-White. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ed and Harry Kaser; and his sisters, Helen Kaser and Betty Blessing. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 4-6 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 with the funeral service in Bob’s honor at 6 PM with Pastor Chris Garner officiating. Burial will be on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11 AM in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
